Damon Industry Solved the Difficulty of Electroplating with Integrity and Responsibility, Striving to Meet Client’s Deadline

Electroplating is a common surface treatment, which is always the only treatment to achieve rust protection for welded pipes in rollers. In this August, the busy and orderly outsourcing galvanization process was thoroughly broke. At the beginning of the month, an important galvanization cooperator was shut down due to environmental inspection. Several days later, another electroplating factory was shut down and all roller galvanization factories in Huzhou were closed. How to deal with thousands upon thousands of rollers that are cut out every day? It’s very urgent!

In face of problems, we have no route of retreat but to overcome it with clients! Management of the company gave orders: organizing outsourcing immediately, guaranteeing quality at all costs, interacting with clients more frequently, not transferring cost to clients before the problem of electroplating problems are solved. Each department put themselves into work rapidly:

1. Notifying all clients immediately, promoting understanding, sorting out degree of emergency and priorities. Exchanging information with plan department every day;

2. Outsourcing long tube, long axis and cut roller to supplier with good quality in Jiangsu and surrounding areas. Long tubes and axis are used for urgent and small orders. Purchase department rapidly dealt with works like staff, lifting appliance and quality verification. Quality control department stayed with the supplier to conduct verification and guarantee consistency of quality. However the consistency requirement of the surface will be adjusted appropriately due to the difference in technology.

3. Departments of planning and production cooperated closely, adjusting whole production system according to the redefined deadline with clients. Damon Industry had 500 orders per day operated on the site. Adjusting process of ERP system is very complicated and only allowing operation and adjustment on the site. Assembly group basically worked at full capacity.

4.In order to not influence clients’ project, sales department mails the urgent orders through express delivery, sending the urgent small and overseas orders through air parcels. They recommended clients to employ double-faced galvanized tubes for new orders.

With the efforts of all parties, Damon Industry tried efforts with utmost integrity to guarantee the normal volume of receiving orders and production, achieving wide-spread understanding from clients. The company bore the doubled galvanization cost, higher transport charge. However, in this process the only thing that the company wanted to do is to provide products with consistent quality timely. They worked together to solve the clients’ problems.

As September begins, galvanization problems have been relieved. However the galvanization event in August gave us inspiration as well: achieving stable service in the future, new breakthrough in technology and craft, use of new tube materials. Damon Industry believes that as long as they have integrity and responsibility, they can proceed along with clients.
